Without limitation, we may collect and process any of the following Data about you:

2.1. Information that you give us: You may give us information about you by filling in forms on the Web Site or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you register to use our site, subscribe to our Services and Systems, search for a product, participate in discussion boards or other social media functions on our site, enter a competition, promotion or survey and when you report a problem with our Web Site. The information you give us may include your name, contact information such as email addresses and telephone numbers, demographic information such as post code and preferences and personal descriptions and photographs.

2.2. Information that we collect about you: With regard to each of your visits to our Web Site we may automatically collect the following information:  IP address used to connect your computer to the internet, your login information, web browser plug-in type and version (automatically collected), operating system and platform (automatically collected), time zone setting (automatically collected), a list of URLS starting with a referring site, your activity on this Web Site, and the site you exit to (automatically collected), page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page and Cookie information (see Clause 9 below).

2.3. Information that we receive from other sources: We may receive information about you if you use any of the other websites we operate or the other Services and Systems we provide. In this case we will have informed you when we collected that data that it may be shared internally and combined with Data collected on this Web Site. We are also working closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers, credit reference agencies) and may receive information about you from them. 

3. Storage and Use of Data

3.1. All Data is stored securely in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998. For more details on security, see Clause 9 below. The Data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your order, the processing of your payment details, search engine facilities, the provision of support services, advertising and marketing. 3.3. Any Data you submit will be retained by HootLoot for as long as you use the Services and Systems provided on the Web Site. Data that you may submit through any communications System that we may provide may be retained for a longer period of up to 6 Months (or as otherwise legally required).

4. Disclosure of your Data

4.1. HootLoot may share your personal information with any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006 (as amended from time to time).

4.2. HootLoot may share your information with selected third parties, including:

    • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you. Any Data used by such parties is used only to the extent required by them to perform the services that HootLoot requests. Any use for other purposes is strictly prohibited.
    • Advertisers and advertising networks that require the Data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others. We may make use of the Data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers’ wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience;
    • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Web Site.

4.3. HootLoot may disclose your Data to third parties: 

    • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your Data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
    • If HootLoot or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its Users will be one of the transferred assets.
    • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your Data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions and other agreements related to our Services and Systems; or to protect the rights, property or safety of HootLoot, our Users or others. 5. Changes of Business Ownership and Control

5.1. HootLoot may, from time to time, expand or reduce its business and this may involve the sale of certain divisions or the transfer of control of certain divisions to other parties. Data provided by Users will, where it is relevant to any division so transferred, be transferred along with that division and the new owner or newly controlling party will, under the terms of this Policy, be permitted to use the Data for the purposes for which it was collected from you or that you provided to us.

5.2. In the event that any Data submitted by Users will be transferred in such a manner, you will be contacted in advance and informed of the changes. When contacted you will be given the choice to have your Data deleted or withheld from the new owner or controller.

6. Your Rights

6.1. You may access certain areas of the Web Site without providing any Data at all. However, to use all Services and Systems available on the Web Site you may be required to submit Account information or other Data.

6.3. You have the right to ask us not to process your Data for marketing purposes. 7. Accessing your own Data

7.1. You may access your Account at any time to view or amend the Data. You may need to modify or update your Data if your circumstances change. Additional Data as to your marketing preferences may also be stored and you may change this at any time.

7.2. You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal Data on payment of a small fee to meet our costs of providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

8. Security

8.1. Data security is of great importance to HootLoot and to protect your Data we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure Data collected online. All information that you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. All Data is only visible via a secure, password protected administration area used only by HootLoot staff. Any account passwords are one-way encrypted so even HootLoot staff are unable to view these. Any payment transactions will be encrypted. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

8.2. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

9.1. HootLoot may set and access Cookies on your computer. These Cookies allow us to distinguish you from other Users of our Web Site, which helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse the Web Site and also allows us to improve the Web Site. First-party Cookies that may be placed on your computer are detailed in Schedule 1. Third-party Cookies that may be placed on your computer are detailed in Schedule 2. All Cookies used by the Web Site are used in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 as amended by the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2011. HootLoot reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy as we may deem necessary from time to time or as may be required by law. Any changes will be immediately posted on the Web Site and you are deemed to have accepted the terms of the Policy on your first use of the Web Site following the alterations.
